East Middle Rd. Structure Fire

In the early evening hours of Friday January 9,2009 the N.E.F.D was dispatched to East Middle Rd for a reported structure fireChief 201 arrived on location reporting a large 2.5 story structure fully involved.  Chief 201 asked for the 2nd alarm to be dispatched.  Fuller Engine 202 and Crescent Ladder 209 arrived on location together and worked to pull 2 - 1 3/4" and 2 - 2 1/2" attack line from the Engine and stretched them out for the exterior attack. Fuller Engine 204 and Tanker 206 arrived next, and worked together to get the Porta - Tank set up behind Engine 202. Ripley Engine 272 arrived next and was given the order to fill Tankers from the hydrant and Hertzel Rd and E Main Rd.  Tankers from Fuller, Harborcreek, Ripley,Fairfield and Greenfield shuttled water from the hydrant to the porta tank until the fire was under control.  Chief 200 then started to release some of the 2nd alarm equipment and Crews from North East spent an extended period of time with overhaul. Fairfield Engine 263 Transfered to Crescent Hose while the N.E.F.D fought the Structure fire. Chief 200 had the E Middle Rd command.  Special thanks to the N.E.F.D Ladies Auxilary and Micheals Pizzera for supply the crews with refreshments.
