Station Rd Vehicle Fire with Exposure

While Crews where still on scene of the lost hunter East County Communications Center Dispatched the N.E.F.D for a reported  vehicle fire with exposures on Station Rd a few minutes after midnight on Friday January 9,2009.  Chief 211 arrived on location to find a pickup truck well involved with fire extending into a single story apartment. Chief 211 asked for mutual aid to assist.  Crescent Ladder 209 arrived on scene and placed and 1 ¾” attack line into service knocking down the vehicle fire.  Fuller Engine 202 arrived and assisted with extinguishing the vehicle and checking for extension into the structure.  The crews had the fire under control a short time later.  Chief 211 had the Station Rd. command.  The N.E.F.D was assisted by St.70, St.17, and Findley Lake V.F.D.
