E Main Rd Structure Fire
In the Early Hours of Friday October 26, 2007 the
N.E.F.D was dispatched to the 11800 blk. of E Main Rd for a structure fire.
Chief 210 was the 1st to arrive on
scene reporting a 40’ x 60’ building with heavy smoke visible from the
exterior and immediately asked for the 2nd alarm to the scene. Engine 202
from Fuller Hose arrived and placed 2- 1 ¾” attack lines into service.
Crescent Hose Ladder 209 arrived and went to work placing ground ladders and
preparing to ventilate the roof. Chief 200 arrived on scene establishing the
E Main Rd command and asked for a working channel. Fuller Tanker 206 and
Crescent Engine 212 arrived shortly after, with Eng 212 pulling a back-up
line, and Tanker 206 standing by as the water supply. Crescent Hose EMS
units arrived and established rehab for the fire fighters.
As the 2nd alarm units arrived on scene command had them stage and send
their man power to the scene to assist with fire suppression. Once the fire
was knocked down, crews spent an extended period on over haul and checking
for extension. A short time later the fire was brought under control. North
East was assisted by Harbor Creek VFD, Ripley Hose Co., Greenfield VFD and
Fairfield Hose Co. handled the transfer assignment. The fire is currently
being investigated by the NEFD and PSP Fire Marshal.
