Busy Night for the East Side Express
On Friday November 20,2009 Fuller Hose was dispatched to Route 89 and Route 5 for a MVA shortly before 6:00 pm. Crews arrived to find a wood chipper into a guard rail with a fuel leak. Crews used oil dry to contain the leak. While still on scene East County Communications dispatched Fuller Hose for another vehicle accident at Route 89 and Law Rd. Crews arrived to find 2 vehicles in a ditch with injuries. Crews from the Engine and Rescue stabilized the vehicle and assisted EMS with the patient care. While at the scene of the 2nd vehicle accident East County Communiactions dispatched Fuller Hose to Loomis St. at the railroad tracks for a reported train vs semi accident. Engine 204 was directed by command to go to the 3rd accident with Crescent Squad 207 and Harbor Creek was dispatched for a Rescue. Engine 204 arrived on scene to find a train blocking the crossing with no vehicle found. After a discussion with the train crew all units returned. Engine 204 was back in the fire house just after 7:00 pm. Chief 201 had the 89 and 5 command, Chief 200 had the 89 and Law Rd. command and Chief 210 had the Loomis St command.
