Grant St. Structure Fire

In the early hours of Sunday November 9, 2008 the N.E.F.D was dispatched to Grant St for a reported structure fire. N.E.P.D arrived on location prior to the F.D reporting a working fire.  Chief 200 arrived reporting a large 2 story structure with heavy fire on the 2nd floor asking for and Engine from Harborcreek, Fairfield and a Transfer Engine from Ripley. Fuller Engine 202 arrived on scene and placed 2 1 3/4" attack lines into service and entered the structure. Crescent Ladder 209 arrived on scene with a clear shot to the roof on the A/D corner of the structure and set up the ladder. Fuller Engine 204 layed in from a near by hydrant and supplied E-202. Crescent Engine 212 also layed in from the other side of the fire and supplied L-209.  Crescent EMS arrived and setup rehab close to the scene. Once crews had the fire knocked down, a lengthy period of time was spent on overhaul operations.  The Fire is currently being investigated by the PSP Fire Marshal, NEPD and the NEFD.  Chief 200 had the Grant St. command.
