Back to Back Possible Structure Fires and a MVA
On Monday December 17, 2007 Fuller Hose was dispatched around 9:30 am for a possible structure fire at Curves for Women on W Main Rd.
Chief 200 arrived on location reporting nothing visible from a 1 story commercial structure. Upon investigation the Chief found light smoke conditions inside the store. Engine 202 arrived and went inside with the TIC to investigate. Once inside the Engine crew found that the blower motor on the furnace had burned up. Ladder 209 from Crescent Hose arrived and assisted with ventilation. Chief 200 held the Engine and the Truck for a short time. Chief 200 had the W Main Rd command.While crews were picking up from that call, the communications center dispatched NEFD for another reported Structure Fire in the area of Wall and S Pearl St. Ladder 209 arrived in the area reporting nothing visible and began to investigate. Engine 202 and Engine 203 arrived on location and staged per Crescent C-4. After a short investigation it was determined to be a dryer vent and all units went available. Crescent C-4 had the Wall St. Command
Then around 5:00 pm Fuller Hose was back on the streets for a MVA at Rt.20 and Catholic Cemetery Rd. Engine 203 arrived to find 1 car had hit a tree with no injuries. Fuller L-5 advised chief 211 of the situation and 211 held Engine 203 for clean up and Crescent Squad 207 for paper work. All units clear a short time later. Chief 211 had the W Main Rd command.
