Possible trailer Fire at Valley Village
On Wednesday December 17,2008 the N.E.F.D was dispatched to Valley Village Mobile Home park for a reported trailer fire. Chief 211 arrived on location with nothing visible from the trailer and meet the park manager in front of the structure. He reported that there was a malfunction with the heat take and it was burning underneath the trailer. Engine 202 arrived and pulled a can from the Engine and went to investigate. Half the crews from the Engine found some burnt insulation and melted plastic in the area of the heat tape and the other half of the crew found the trailer full of smoke so the crew pulled the fan off the Engine and began to ventilate. Chief 200 the downgraded the assignment to just the Engine and Crescent EMS. After the trailer was ventilated the Engine returned to service. Chief 200 had the Valley Village command. Guess the saying on the front windshield of the Engine says it all!!
