Filter Plant Rd. Structure Fire

On Sunday December 12, 2008 the N.E.F.D was dispatched for a reported chimney fire. Chief 200 arrived on location reporting a single story structure with heavy smoke and fire visible from the rear of the structure, asking East County Comm. center to start Harborcreek for a Tanker and Ripley for and Engine and Tanker.  Engine 202 arrived and placed 2 1-3/4" attack lines into service and the crews split up with one crew going to the basement and one crew going to the first floor.  Tanker 206 arrived next and established the water supply for the Engine.   The crew that went to the first floor found a bedroom well involved with extension into the hallway and living room.  Once the Fire was knock down chief 200 down graded the assignment to just the N.E.F.D Units and began the task of overhaul around the chimney and in the bedroom with assistance from Crescent Ladder 209.  The N.E.F.D  was assisted by Harborcreek VFD and Ripley Hose Company.  Chief 200 had the Filter plant Rd. command.
