Super Bowl Sunday Structure Fire on 3rd Ave.
Fuller Hose was dispatched to 3rd Ave. Sunday February 4 for a reported Structure Fire. Engine 202, Engine 204, Engine 203 Tanker 206, went responding with in minutes of dispatch. Due to the extremely cold temperatures and the heavy snow falling communications advised everyone to use extreme cautions. Chief 201 went on location with a 1 story structure with light smoke showing. Engine 202 arrived on scene and pulled a 1 3/4" attack line and went in the front door, to meet 201. The crews found a fire in the bathroom of the house. Engine 204 arrived on scene pulled a back up line to the rear of the structure. Due to the location and weather command had the Ladder and Heavy Rescue from Crescent stage on the hard road and walk back. The Ladder crew used the vent saw and fan off Engine 202 to ventilate. After the fire was knocked down Chief 200 down sized the assignment for over haul. a short time later all other units went available.
