Early Morning Structure Fire

Just after 5:00 am on Tuesday March 31,2009 the N.E.F.D was dispatched to S Lake St. for a reported structure fire. Chief 211 arrived on location reporting smoke visible from the store front of a 2 story structure.  Engine 202 arrived on location and advanced 2 lines into the store.  Once inside the crews found the fire in the basement with extension to the 1st floor. Crescent Ladder 209 arrived and placed the Ladder to the roof to prepare for ventilation.  Crescent Engine 212 arrived next and reverse laid from E-202 to a hydrant near by.  Fuller Engine 204 arrived and assisted E-202's crew with extinguishing the fire.  Crews spent an extended period of time on salvage and over haul.  The fire is currently being investigated by the PSP Fire Marshal and the N.E.F.D.  The N.E.F.D was assisted by HarborCreek VFD, and Ripley Hose.  Chief 200 had the S Lake St command.
