Early Morning Structure Fire
Shortly before 4:00 am on June 17,2010 the NEFD was dispatched for a reported structure fire on Clinton St. Crescent C-4 arrived on location reporting a large 2.5 story structure with heavy fire on the 1st and 2nd floor. Engine 202 arrived and placed 2- 1 3/4" attack lines and attempted to make entry into structure. Due to the layout of the structure crews were unable to access the main body of fire and were forced to back out due to heavy fire load. Chief 200 then order L-209 and E-202 to use the master streams to knock down the main body of fire. Once the main body of fire was knocked down crews spent a extended period of time performing salvage and overhaul. The fire is under investigation by the NEFD, NEPD and PSP Fire Marshal. The NEFD was assisted by Harborcreek VFD, Fairfield VFD and Brookside.
