Fly out and Structure Fire
On Tuesday July 31, 2007 just before 1:00 pm the North East Fire Dept. was dispatched to E Main St in the area of Subway for an unresponsive fall victim. Crescent Squad 207 and Emergycare medic 192 arrived to find a teenage male lying on the ground. Life Star Air Medical was requested by EMS after their assessment revealed life threatening injuries. Fuller Hose Engine 204 was dispatched to Heard Park to establish the landing zone. The Patient was packaged, loaded into the helicopter and all units returned to service. Just before 3, N.E.F.D was dispatched to E Division St for a report of garage fire with exposures. Chief 200 arrived, reported a single story garage fully involved with extension into a 2 story house. Fuller Engine 202 and Crescent Ladder 209 arrived on scene and stretched 3 – 1 ¾” attack lines and went to work. Fuller Engine 204 arrived and secured the water supply for Ladder 209 and assisted with truck work. Crescent Squad 217 arrived and set up rehab Chief 200 requested Mutual Aid from both Haborcreek and Fairfield. HCFD Engine 224 assisted with suppression and Fairfield Squad 267 and assisted with rehab. High temperatures were a contributing factor to firefighter fatigue and required additional EMS units to assist at the scene. Chief 200 reported the fire under control a short time later. The fire is under investigation by the NEFD and PSP Fire Marshal.
