Freeport Rd Church Fire
The North East Fire Dept. was dispatched around 4:15 Saturday June 2, 2007 to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Freeport Rd.
Crews responded for a structure fire. On arrival of Chief 201 there was light smoke showing. Ladder 209 arrived, and stretched a 1 ¾” attack line. Engine 202, stretched a 1 3/4” back up line and assisted 209 and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was contained to the original fire room with only light smoke damage to other parts of the church. The fire was placed under control while the truck crew ventilated the structure and other crews checked for extension. The fire is under currently under investigation. Chief 200 had the Freeport Rd. command.
