Tractor Trailer MVA I-90 @ mm 38

On Tuesday December 23,2008 Fuller Hose was dispatched to I-90 at the 38 mile marker for a reported MVA involving 2 tractor trailers. Chief 200 arrived on scene reporting 2 tractor trailers collided head on and that the East bound lane was blocked, and had East County Comm. Center start Harborcreek for a Squad and Rescue and advised all incoming units to travel West in the East bound lane from the turn around at mile marker 39.  Engine 204 arrived on scene and began checking the 2 trucks for leaks and found that one truck's fuel tank had been ruptured and began to contain the spill.  Crescent Rescue 208 arrived and assisted with containing the hazards. Crescent EMS checked over the 2 drivers that were not injured.  Once the fuel spill was contained, the tow trucks began the task of removing the trucks from the road.  Once the trucks were separated the crews checked one more time for hazards and returned. Interstate 90 East bound was closed for approx. 5 hours due to this incident.  Chief 200 had the I-90 command.
